Rules and Regulations
In order to decrease boat-launching delays, have your boat loaded and ready to launch before you enter the ramp area. Similarly, when retrieving your boat, drive your vehicle and boat well out of traffic patterns to unload your craft and secure to the trailer.
- For your own safety, no jumping or diving into the lake from the shoreline is allowed.
- Absolutely no swimming, jumping, or diving is allowed from the boat dock or fishing pier.
- NO fishing from the boat dock or walkway areas.
- Please take your trash to the closest barrels and dumpsters located in various locations around the paved parking lot at the boat ramp.
- Please be courteous to other boaters and remove your watercraft from the facility and the ramp area as soon as possible.
- If you require special assistance to physically access the boat dock or fishing pier, please contact the City of Lubbock Parks & Recreation office in Lubbock at 806.775.2673, no less than 72 hours in advance.
- A "campsite" consists of no more than 8 (eight) persons and 2 (two) tents, and checkout time is 1:00 p.m.
- Camping is limited to 6 (six) consecutive nights.
- Camp only at a numbered sign, camping is prohibited on paved surfaces.
- Bring your own firewood, and be extremely cautious with fires.
- Overnight generator use is limited to the north campsite area only as indicated by signage. Overnight generator use is prohibited in the south campsite area as indicated by signage.
- Creation of new roadways, campsites or parking areas is strictly prohibited.
- All visitors who do not have a current annual permit must acquire and pay for a day-use permit at the entrance of the area, either from the Gate Attendant during open office hours or from the self-serve permit dispenser when the office is closed.
- Traffic signs and parking regulations will be enforced.
- Litter and garbage must be placed within the trash containers provided; littering will not be tolerated. Glass containers are prohibited on the property.
- Firearms, the discharge of any weapon, and hunting activities are prohibited on the property.
- All pets must be restrained on a leash at all times.
- Destruction of trees and the gathering of firewood from the property are prohibited.
- Wastewater or gray water from RV’s may not be dumped or deposited in or on the ground, lake or any surface water of the property.
- All off-road or all-terrain vehicles including mountain bikes, are prohibited on the property.
- Drive on established roadways only. Creation of new roadways, trails or campsites is prohibited.
- Vandalism of or theft from property, buildings or any other improvement is prohibited.
- Commercial activity or advertising on the property without written permission from the City is prohibited.
- Visitors shall be held liable for any subsequent wildfire damages if their campfire escapes the confines of their fire-pit.
- Aboriginal Indian artifacts and/or rock art are protected under State Law; it is a violation to collect from or disturb archeological sites.
- A parent or legal guardian who shall be held liable for the conduct of the minor must accompany minor children under age 16.
- It is a violation to disturb, confine, remove or harass wildlife on the property.
- Public nudity or disrobing is prohibited.
- It is a violation to excavate, remove or disturb any rock, soil, mineral, fossil or any geological deposit on the property.
- It is a violation for any person to cause or contribute to disruptive, destructive or violent behavior endangering the health, lives or safety of persons, animals or property.
